Vacation with Daddy and Chase

We had the pleasure of bringing Chase with us on vacation in Vancouver, Whistler and then finally Hawaii......such a wonderful experience.  Chase had the time of his life as did Mommy and Daddy, we were all very tired with the time change but for Chase being a 5 year old, he was awesome!!!!  I know I was tired so I an only imagine how he felt, but he sure did make the entire trip enjoyable for us!  One special moment stands out in Vancouver, taking him to the big aquarium......I have NEVER seen him that excited before in my life!  It was worth the entire trip just seeing the excitement in his eyes, I am so happy he shares the love of animals that his Daddy and I do.

We then continued on to Whistler, the drive there was simply breathtaking....words cannot do it justice.....Mother Nature sure is talented!!!  Chase's favourite part of Whistler was swimming inside and out.....

Next we were on to Hawaii, with much delay but we did finally get there and Chase was a trooper through all the delays, line ups and missed flights!!!  He really was born to travel!    One special moment stands out from Hawaii, we had the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbour and tour the Arizona.  During the tour Chase became very tired and cranky, so I took him down to a sitting area so that Matt could finish the tour and so that Chase would not disrupt the other people.  During our "quiet" time Chase was ready to have a meltdown, so over tired!  He wanted me to buy him a treat, however coming on the tour you were not permitted to bring any bag or purse.  So I had no wallet on me, and Matt up on the ship on tour, Chase was not going to get a treat at that moment.  There happen to be a older gentlemen sitting along the side on his break, he happen to be one of the tour guides from the ship.  He was on his well deserved break, having a coke and a snack.  He had a package of Fruit Mento's candy.......as he saw Chase loosing it, he offered up his full package of mento's to bring a smile to his face.  How so very sweet the people are in Hawaii.  This man had grandchildren of his own and knew the limits of a child and thought he would help out!  Something I will always remember.  He taught us that doing a little something for someone can mean the world to another.  Once Matt returned I tried to repay this man for his mento's but he simply said.."No, it was my pleasure to spend this time with you and Chase".  Probably one of the most favorite part of our Hawaii trip.  Many other moments to mention, such as the Beach Boys playing on our beach, or laying and playing on the amazing Lagoon Beach with Chase, or swimming in the lava created pools at the hotel.   Many many more moments were experienced but too many to type out!!!    Thank you Matt and Chase for making this trip soooo wonderful!!!!

Updates!!!

It's been a few weeks since I have been able to update.....wonder why?  Could have something to do with the 3 children in my life!!!    So I thought I should just give a little update as to what has been happening lately.

Miss Chloee has gotten her second tooth and the poor little thing as suffered through it.....teething has been a tough go for her....I am hoping it gets a little easier for her in the future as it is a long road of teeth coming in......another milestone she reached is official crawling, she looks so cute with her little bum wiggling around the house.  She has places to go now and loves every minute.......She is just shy of 10 months now and it has been an amazing voyage so far!!!

Now on to Jett, well Mr. Jett is keeping us busy.......he is learning so many things from his big brother, some good and some not so good.  At this moment, Jett's favorite saying is "In a Minute"  meaning, I will do what you told me in a minute.   He makes me laugh as he is such an little booger at times......so loving and wants to cuddle on your lap and in the next breath throwing a temper tamp tram on the floor.  I never saw these tamp trams with Chase so this is new...and dealing with it is challenging, however most of them time I let him scream it out...seems to work.  The big boy has retired his bottle now and understands that bottles are for Baby Chloee, not big boy Jett, he wants to drink his milk in a sippy cup like his big brother Chase now!!!    Way to go big man.....Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you and love you so much!!!
And now on to my big boy Chase, well this little guy has been so busy lately, between school, hockey, hanging with his buddies and just plan having fun...he's busy!!!  Daddy took he and Jett to see the Raptors play this week, they travelled to the game in a huge SUV stretched Limo and then went to sit in the box to watch the game and have goodies.
We recently made a trip home to Kingston, kind of a tough trip for Chase, first we thought we lost his DSI which was very traumatic for all, then on a outing he fell and had to be taken into Emergency and received 4 stitches....his second set of stitches.....he does think his scare is pretty cool though, he got to go to school on Tuesday and show is teacher and all his buddies and tell them the tale!  A big day is fast approaching, my big man is going to be 5, it is incredible to me that he is going to be 5......wow where has the time gone?  What a wonderful 5 years it has been buddy!!!  Mommy and Daddy love you, and thank you for making this parenting thing so easy.

How very lucky Matt and I are to have such wonderful, happy and healthy children, I would never ask for anything more in this world!!!

Two Short little tales to tell.........

So last night, getting close to bedtime for the kids we are all sitting in the living room watching a little T.V.   We decide that it is time to get the kids ready for bed, and one of their bedtime rituals is having some milk to take to bed after brushing their teeth.  Well last night Matt said...OK Chase it's time to go brush out teeth and Daddy will make you some Chocolate Milk to take up to bed.........Chase became so upset and yelling back at Dad saying....."I CAN'T HAVE CHOCOLATE MILK FOR BEDTIME DADDY I HAVE POOOOOO SAUCE".....he was so upset and Matt and I could barely keep from laughing at him, I think it was just how irritated he was with Matt cause he was going to make him Chocolate Milk and everyone knows that Chocolate Milk gives you POOOOOOO SAUCE!!!  In Chase's world anyway!!!!  :)  He'll kill me when he is older that I have told these stories I am sure!!!

And the next story that happen in this house today.......Jett came home from school, it was a busy 10 minutes as he came in as we were getting Chase ready to go to hockey, feeding Chloee her dinner and getting dinner going for all of us.........I heard Jett wander into the laundry room where our bin of dog food is kept, I heard him pull himself up on the cupboard to the counter and open the dog food bin.........before I could even get out of my chair to go stop him, he was back on the floor running up the stairs to his room, I hear his door slam shut and he is giggling hiding in his bed under the covers, I come into his room and ask him what he is doing?  His response is after he uncovers his head from his blankets and with a full mouth of dog kibble he says....mothing!!!    LOL!!!  Or tries to say it anyway!!!!  What a kid....now hiding to eat the dog kibble!!!

Another Milestone Reached

Well as we enter a new month, (Feb 2011) we have entered a new milestone with Miss Chloee, we now have a moving baby.  She is not actually crawling but is pulling herself along the floor, carpet and hardwood.  She has the motion down and I am sure normal crawling won't be long but in the meantime, she is quite happy to be pulling herself all over the house.  New Challenges this brings, oh yes, already having Chase and Jett running around the house and dropping toys and nicks and nacs all over has Mommy running around picking things up like a maniac in fear that Chloee will get it.  With Chase, this wasn't an issue as he was the only one, no worries of toys form his older siblings, then Jett arrived and well it was a bit more of a challenge with Chase playing everywhere in the house but he was pretty good and keeping his toys away from Baby Jett, well now it is Jett's turn and he just happens to leave everything everywhere, making my days full.  Nothing new with Jett though!!!    I must give him credit though, when it is time to clean up, that kid will clean up and won't stop till it's done!!!  Hopefully he continues that way!

So now I have 3 children, doing their own thing, happy and healthy playing all around our home....every little inch!!!  How very lucky we are!!!!

Terrible Two's!!!

Well we have officially reached the Terrible 2's phase with Jett.  I am experiencing things with him that I never did with Chase.  At least I don't recall it happening, but maybe!!!  Jett enjoys having the battle of the wils with me.......on a regular occurrence now, upon Jett acting up he is told he will be going for a "Time Out" if he doesn't stop.....well....his response....."OK, Let's go", and away he heads to the stairs to assume the position, all this time laughing!!!  It just doesn't seem to phase this kid.  Once his timeout is over, we head back to what we were doing where most of the time he returns to doing what he got the time out for in the first place....It is a big game for him....and we just keep going around and around.

I have took to watching the Supernanny every chance I get now and take notes!  I have learned that it seems to be more effective taking things away from Jett that he enjoys...Hench..his milk.  He loves his milk and can't get enough each day.........so the milk goes bye bye.  Consistency is the key at this point I have learned.....no slacking off with this one!!!!  Otherwise he will play me like a fiddle!    Any advise from fellow parents out there is welcome!!!!  Momma is tired!!!!  LOL!!!

It amazes me that this sweet little face can be a little hellion when he chooses!!!!

Sick Kids...The Season of the Flu

Well one thing I was never told or never realized befor having kids was how sick a house could get from the germ bugs they bring in your home, and will continue all threw the season to be sick and continue to pass it on to each other over and over again.

We have had so many colds in this house this year that I have seriously lost count of who has had what and for how long and what all the symptoms were.......It certainly is true, kids enter school and daycare and sickness comes along with it!  I have to say the mommy inside of me loves the extra cuddle time that I am banking up but it hurts my heart to watch my three kids uncomfortable from the flu or a cold of some sort.

It seems I am forever washing hands, surfaces and faces, just trying to avoid these colds, but in the end, it really doesn't seem to matter as the colds reside in someone in the house.  I have never tried the flu shot......does anyone have any comments on it?  Would love to know what you think!    I can honestly say that this house is sick and tired of being sick and tired!!!!!    Any tips fellow Mom's?
